Distributing Renowned Music Content across MENA

Amman, Jordan (September 2010) – Beecell, a regional mobile value added services solution provider, recently signed an agreement with Sony Music Entertainment to distribute the latter’s music products with mobile network operators in selected markets in the Middle East.

According to the accord, Beecell will distribute Sony’s music content through mobile network operators to mobile phones. Users will enjoy a wide range of diverse content including video downloads, full track audio downloads, ringtones and ring back tones

A solid partnership indeed, as Sony Music Entertainment is one of the largest recorded music companies in the world. With the signing of this agreement, Beecell is bound to be “Sony’s preferred aggregator”.

This particular agreement comes as part of Beecell’s ongoing pursuit to provide its growing users base with unique and entertaining mobile content in a wide variety of formats.

CEO of Beecell, Bashar Hantouli, said “We are proud to be one of Sony’s preferred aggregators since the multi-national company is one of the largest music companies in the world.”

In addition, Mr. Hantouli said that Beecell will particularly focus on Sony’s rich content distribution for smart mobile phone, explaining that the latter has thousands of music labels.

“This would give us the opportunity to provide mobile users in our part of the world with first rate music content on their phones, and further enhance our compelling content portfolio through all our channels in the MENA region,” he added, noting that penetration of mobile phones in the MENA region and around the world has introduced a new distribution channel for music that is easily accessible by millions of mobile users.

On his part, Craig Pereira, Director- Marketing & Digital Sony Music Middle East said “We are extremely gratified to be working with Beecell as a preferred aggregator. This association will open distribution channels for Sony Music’s content in new markets such as those in Jordan and Kuwait”

Beecell currently offers its leading edge mobile interactive and content services to over 30 mobile network operators in 15 countries across the Middle East and North Africa.

Beecell was launched in 2004 with the aim of providing its content services to GSM operators in the Middle East and North Africa, giving mobile users the opportunity to enjoy a wide gallery of Arabic and English language content including ring tones, wallpaper, themes, images and lots more.
